Huyu ni muuza samaki kisiwani Pemba. Kwa Kiswahili hasa huyu anaitwa mchuuzi wa samaki. Yeye huenda bandarini na hununua samaki kutoka kwa wavuvi na baadae yeye hupita mitaani kuwauzia watu wa kawaida samaki. Baskeli yake huifunga susu kwenye kibao cha nyuma. Humo hutia samaki. Kwa kawaida unaponunua samaki kwa mchuuzi, hukufungia kwenye jani la mgomba. Baskeli inasaidia sana kwa usafiri na haina gharama kama gari.Kwahiyo wachuuzi wa samaki wanapata nafuu kwasababu hawahitaji kulipa gharama za mafuta ya petroli. Bei ya kununua samaki kwa mchuuzi huwa ni ya juu ukilinganisha na kununua kwa wavuvi wenyewe (added value)

Mbele ya soko la Kengeja, Pemba.


Hapa ni sokoni, Kengeja, Pemba. Tungule na nazi zinauzwa juu ya meza. Mahali hapa pia ji maarufu kwa watu wa Kengeja kukaa kama barazani na kuzungumza. Waswahili hupenda kukaa katika baraza kama hizi na kuzungumza mambo mbali mbali ya maisha yao. Kwa kawaida watu hukaa barazani saa za jioni au usiku.



Hili ni tangi la maji.Tangi hili liko Kengeja, Pemba.


Kituo cha daladala, Darajani, Zanzibar (Local bus stop Darajani, Zanzibar).
Hapa ni kituo cha daladala. Magari ya usafiri kuelekea maeneo tofauti ya mji wa Zanzibar. Hapa unaweza kupanda  gari kwenda uwanja wa ndege wa Zanzibar kwa bei ya chini. Kwa watu wanaofanyakazi maeneo ya mjini Zanzibar, hapa ni mahali ambapo hushuka daladala wakienda kazini na hupanda daladala hizo wanaporudi nyumbani. Kituo hiki pia kiko mbele ya soko la Zanzibar.

Hawa ni wanafunzi wasichana wa shule ya sekondari ya Azania. Shule hiyo ina wanafunzi wanawake watupu. Wanafunzi huvaa sare. Chini huvaa sketi rangi ya machungwa na juu huvaa shati manjano.

Hawa ni wanafunzi wa Zanzibar. Hapa wanafunzi wanatoka shuleni na wanaenda kupanda daladala ili warudi nyumbani. Wanafunzi wa Zanzibar wanavaa sare. Wanafunzi wasichana(wanawake) huvaa kitambaa kujifunika kichwa (hijaab). Wanafunzi wanaume huvaa suruali refu. Wanafunzi wanaovaa nyeupe juu na nyeusi chini huwa ni wanafunzi wa sekondari na wale wanaovaa chini buluu na juu rangi ya malai (cream).

Mchezo wa watoto (Children traditional play)
Mchezo huu unaitwa "ana ana ano do". Jina la mchezo huu linatokana na nyimbo ya mchezo wenyewe. Ni mchezo maarufu kwa watoto wa Waswahili. Nyimbo yake inaimbwa hivi: "ana ana ana do, kachanika basto, ispiringi mitingo, ana kwa ana kadukuduku lembwe kafis"
In this game, the children participating lay their hands face down whilst one child sings a song. The child who sings the song is also hopping from one hand to another with every syllable of the song. When the song stops, the hand the singer's finger rests upon is out. The process continues until the last hand remaining is the winner.
Harusi ya Waswahili wa Zanzibar.

Bwana harusi amevaa joho jeusi na kilemba. Mbele yake yuko shehe ambae ni muozeshaji. Shehe amevaa koti rangi ya  dhahabu na amevaa kanzu na kofia. Pia mbele ya bwana harusi ni mtoa idhini kwa upande wa bibi harusi. Yeye humwambia shehe kuwa ametoa idhini kwa msichana kuolewa. Baadae shehe huenda kumuona bi harusi ili kuthibitisha kuwa amekubali kuolewa. Baada ya hapo shehe huozesha rasmi.



Muslims graveyard.

Hapa ni makaburini. Ni mahali panapochimbwa makaburi kwa ajili ya  kuwazika Waislamu wanapofariki. Ukiangalia picha utaona wanaume watupu ndio waliopo makaburini. Katika utamaduni wa Waswahili, wanawake hawaendi makaburini. Kama aliekufa ni mwanamke, wanawake humuosha maiti na kumkafini na baadae hutiwa  kwenye jeneza. Wanaume baadae humsalia na huenda kumzika.

Pemba millipede


This is a Pemba millipede. They slowly become distinct because of the new construction in different parts in Pemba. They feed on fruits which fall down from trees. In Swahili it is known as "jongoo". Many people in Pemba do not like them. Although they are "shining" and "glittering", yet people consider them to be dirty. There is a song by the late Remmy Ongala which says "Jongoo mpenda watu, na watu hawampendi" (The millipede likes people but people do not like it).
